A home with solar, a battery and an EV charger has a lot of settings to get right: when the battery charges and discharges, how much it keeps in reserve for outages, when the car charges and how all of that fits your tariff. Settings that suited you on installation day may not suit a new tariff, a second car or a Virtual Power Plant offer. The Premium Care Plan looks after the whole system for 12 months.
The Premium plan is $599 a year, an indicative current plan price that is confirmed when you join. Repairs, parts and cleaning are quoted separately in writing before any work goes ahead.
What's included
Remote monitoring of your solar, battery and EV charger, where your equipment allows it
Alerts and advice on faults, offline equipment and unusual performance
Optimisation of battery modes, backup reserve and EV charging schedules for your tariff and usage
One annual on-site inspection of the array, battery, inverter, EV charger and switchboard connections
An annual tariff review covering time-of-use, feed-in and battery-friendly plan structures
A Virtual Power Plant review explaining whether joining suits your battery and household
A written summary of the inspection, optimisation changes and review findings
Why Blue Energy Solar
We design and install solar, batteries and EV chargers as connected systems, so we understand how the settings interact. Our reviews are not tied to any retailer or VPP operator: we explain the trade-offs of each tariff or VPP structure, including how much battery control you give up, and you decide. Inspections are carried out by our licensed electricians and trained solar team.
Recommended for
Homes with solar, a battery and an EV charger that want the whole system monitored, tuned and reviewed each year.
From 1 July 2026, NSW offers a one-off incentive of up to $1,000 for homes and small businesses that connect an existing battery to a Virtual Power Plant. A VPP can suit some households well, but it can also mean less control over when your battery discharges and how much reserve is kept for outages.
Battery optimisation adjusts timing and settings; it cannot add capacity, and bill results depend on your usage and tariff.
EV charger monitoring and control depend on the charger's connectivity and features.
A genuinely off-grid system cannot join a VPP.
Confirm current incentive details on the official NSW government page before joining a VPP.

Warnings
The plan runs for 12 months from activation, and the plan price is confirmed when you join.
Monitoring and optimisation require internet-connected equipment that allows installer or service access.
The plan includes one on-site inspection within the plan year; additional visits are quoted separately.
Repairs, parts, panel cleaning and warranty claim work are not included and are quoted separately in writing.
Tariff and VPP reviews are guidance only; choosing a plan or joining a VPP remains your decision, and incentive values should be confirmed on official pages.
Frequently Asked Questions
We look at how your battery charges and discharges against your usage, solar production and tariff. That can include adjusting time-of-use charging windows, the backup reserve, export settings and how the battery works alongside EV charging. Changes are explained before we make them, and we review the results through monitoring so you can see whether they are working as intended.
It depends on your priorities. A VPP can pay credits or incentives, and NSW currently offers a one-off incentive for connecting an existing battery. In return, the operator can use part of your battery at certain times, which may reduce your backup reserve or self-consumption. We compare the terms with how you use your battery and explain the trade-offs clearly.
Monitoring depends on the charger. Smart chargers with app or network connectivity can usually be included, and some integrate directly with the inverter or battery system. Basic chargers without connectivity can still be inspected on site, and their usage is often visible through your home energy monitoring. We confirm what is possible with your equipment before you join.
Probably not. Premium is built for homes with a battery, an EV charger or both, where settings and tariff choices have the biggest effect. If you only have solar, the Basic plan covers monitoring, an annual performance report and a tariff review, and Plus adds priority support and a scheduled inspection. We will recommend the plan that matches your equipment.
