A System Performance Audit gives you a clear answer by comparing 12 months of actual generation with modelled output for your system size, panel orientation, tilt, shading and local weather.
Where there is a gap, we work out why, from shading and soiling to inverter clipping, export limits, faulty strings or ageing equipment, and explain what can realistically be done. We model output for every system we design, so we know what realistic expectations look like in Sydney and regional NSW. Our audit is independent of who installed your system and gives you an honest answer, including when the system is working normally and no spending is needed. What is normal? As a typical range, a 6.6 kW system in Sydney produces roughly 24-27 kWh a day on average across a year, with much lower output in winter. Panels commonly lose around 0.4-0.55% of their output a year, so an older system will produce somewhat less than when it was new.
Export limits set by the network can reduce output on sunny days without any fault. If your inverter doesn't store 12 months of history, we may use smart meter data or bills, which can make the audit less precise. The price depends on data availability, system complexity and whether a site visit is required.
