A tree that barely touches the roof in summer can cast long shadows across the panels in winter, when the sun is low and every hour of production counts. Before cutting anything, or before designing a system around trees, it pays to understand exactly where the shade falls and what can responsibly be done about it.
The assessment starts from $450 per property. This is an indicative starting price; the final price depends on the number and size of trees, the complexity of the site and whether a formal arborist report is required.
Trees add value to a property, shade homes in summer and are protected in many council areas. We do not start from the assumption that trees must go. Instead, we show what shading really costs in output and compare the options: selective pruning, moving panels to a different roof face, or accepting some loss. Pruning advice comes from a qualified arborist, not guesswork.

NSW councils regulate tree pruning and removal, and trees in bushland, heritage areas or on neighbouring land can have extra rules. Pruning or removing a protected tree without approval can lead to penalties, so approval comes first.
