The consumer mains are the cables that carry electricity from the network connection point, at the pit or overhead pole, to your meter board and main switch. In many older homes they were sized for lighting, a stove and a hot water system. As households add EV chargers, heat pumps, induction cooktops and more air-conditioning, undersized or deteriorated mains can limit how much you can safely add.

We calculate the property's maximum demand properly, including EV charging, heating and cooling, rather than guessing, and we check whether load management could avoid or reduce the upgrade. When the mains do need replacing, we coordinate the network side and plan the route to limit disruption to gardens, driveways and paths. If a switchboard upgrade or three-phase supply is also worth considering, we explain the combined options so the work only needs to be done once.
