Replacing gas with an induction cooktop, heat pump hot water or reverse-cycle heating, and adding an EV charger, can transform how a home uses its solar. It also adds large electrical loads. Before you buy appliances, it pays to know whether your switchboard, main cable and supply can carry them, and in what order the upgrades make sense.
The Induction & Electrification Assessment is $199 per home, and the fee is credited against the work if you go ahead with a Blue Energy Solar quote that comes out of it. Any upgrade prices we discuss on the day are indicative until they are confirmed in a written quote.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not always, but it is a sensible first step if your home is older, has a small switchboard or you expect to add other electric appliances later. An induction cooktop typically needs a dedicated circuit, and your board and main cable must handle the extra load alongside everything else. The assessment confirms that before you buy, so there are no surprises on installation day.
We explain why in plain terms, show what the upgrade involves and quote it separately in writing. In some homes the right answer is a full switchboard replacement; in others, adding circuits or using load management is enough. We also sequence it with your other plans, so a board upgraded for induction is already set up for a future EV charger or battery.
Most homes do not. A well-planned single-phase home can usually run induction cooking, heat pump hot water, reverse-cycle air-conditioning and a single-phase EV charger, especially with scheduling. Three-phase is worth considering for large homes, faster home EV charging or large solar systems. It involves the network and extra cost, so we only recommend it where the benefit is clear.
If you accept a Blue Energy Solar quote for work recommended in the assessment, such as a switchboard upgrade, new circuits, an EV charger or solar and battery work, we deduct the assessment fee from that job. The credit applies while the quote is valid and is shown as a line on your invoice, so you can see it has been applied.
