We look at the pool pump as part of your home's overall solar use. Because we design and install solar systems, we can see when your panels produce the most and set the pump to use that generation without competing unnecessarily with other daytime loads, such as a heat-pump water heater. It is a small, practical change, and we explain it honestly: if your pump is already well scheduled, we will tell you before any work is done, so you only pay for changes that are likely to help.

Older single-speed pumps use a lot of power at full speed. A variable-speed pump can run at lower speed for filtration, which typically uses much less energy, and replacement is quoted separately. Pool equipment wiring must only be altered by a licensed electrician.
