Unlike a roof, the structure itself carries the panels, so it must be designed for the weight of the array, uplift from wind and the footings that hold it all down.
Engineering design starts from $1,490 per design. This is an indicative starting price; the final price depends on the size of the structure, spans, the number of bays, soil conditions, wind exposure, whether EV charging is integrated and the approval pathway.
Because we design and install solar, the engineering is done around the actual panels, rails and cable routes, not a generic shade structure. That means fewer surprises during fabrication and installation, and a structure that looks right with the array on top. We can then quote the complete project, from the structure to the solar, battery and EV charging, so one team is accountable for how it all fits together.

Carports and canopies are building works. Depending on size, height, location and zoning, they may be exempt development or need council approval, and strata or commercial sites also need owner approval.
Engineering design does not include fabrication or construction, which are quoted separately.

3. The engineer prepares the structural design and calculations.
4. You receive signed drawings and certification for fabrication and approvals.
5. We quote construction and the solar installation, or provide the design to your builder.
The price shown is an indicative starting price; the final fixed price is confirmed in writing after reviewing the site and scope.
Geotechnical reports, surveys and council application fees are not included unless listed in the quote.
Council approval, owners corporation consent or building owner approval may be required before construction.
The design applies to the specified panel layout and structure; changes may require re-certification.
Fabrication, construction and solar installation are quoted separately.
