Solar panels are expected to stay on your roof for 25 years or more, so the roof under them needs to be sound. Every Blue Energy Solar quote includes a site visit. The Solar-Ready Roof Assessment goes further: it is a detailed, documented check for older roofs, homes with known issues, complex roof layouts, or owners who want written findings before planning roof works or choosing a system.
The assessment is $199 per property, and the fee is credited against your installation if you go ahead with Blue Energy Solar. Any repair or system prices we mention on the day are indicative until they are confirmed in a written quote.

We explain what we found, why it matters under a solar array and whether it is a quick fix or a larger job. Repairs such as replacing broken tiles, re-pointing or replacing rusted sheets are best done before panels go on, because later access means removing panels. We can arrange roof repairs through qualified roofers and quote them in writing.
If you accept a Blue Energy Solar quote for a solar installation, or for roof works arising from the assessment, the assessment fee is deducted from that job. The credit applies while the quote is valid and appears as a line on your invoice, so you can see it has been applied. If you do not proceed, the fee covers the assessment and written summary.
Most common Sydney roofs can, including concrete and terracotta tile, metal sheeting and many flat roofs with tilt frames. Slate, some older tiles, very fragile roofing and asbestos cement are more difficult or unsuitable. The assessment identifies the roof type and condition and explains which mounting methods suit your roof, or why another location such as a carport may be better.
